J1 Expiry, Visa Expiry DS2019 extention - India Trip

Hi,

Current Situation:
DS 2019 expires on Jan 2012
J1 Visa expires on Jan 2012

Getting an extension for DS 2019 for 3 years from Feb 2012 to Feb 2015.
My area is in TAL lists, so got pink slip initially for the first Visa process.

Queries:
1. Can I travel to India with the old DS2019?
2. If yes, will there be any issues to delay my Visa process?
3. If no, and when I am going to India with new DS 2019 after the start date what are the possibilities to get a 3year J1 visa stamped?
4. Can I apply for J2 along with my J1 visa renewal?

Hope someone who had same situation will be here in this forum.

You can travel out of the U.S. and travel back into the U.S. as long as you have a valid unexpired J-1 visa stamp in your passport.

When you apply for J-1 status extension, you should apply for J-2 status extension too.

Is there any chance for me to get 3 years of J1 visa stamped based on my 3year valid Ds2019.

If you have approved DS-2019, you can get J1 visa stamped till that date.

Is it recommended to apply my J1 Visa in India before the expiry of my current J1 Visa.

For eg. If my visa is expiring on Feb 23, 2012,can I appear for visa interview on Feb 12, 2012?

And on the other way,... If I apply for visa renewal after Feb 24, 2012! what are the differences?
