I am on student visa now and getting married to US citizen.My F1 is valid till June 2006. I want to get married in this month in India.I have got ECFMG certification and applying for residency .What are the steps for applying GC? How much it takes get GC ?How soon I can get EAD?What are all the issues involving visa status for joining residency in my case?Thank you in advance.

You'd get your EAD in 90 days if you got married in the US on your F-1.
And you could join a residency using that EAD. Interview/Green card will take a long time.
But if you get married in India, the proper way would be consular processing.
Your spouse will return and file for you in the US and you'd get the visa
at the consulate after months to a year.
Or IF YOUR CONSULATE ALLOWS, you could go for direct consular
processing. After your marriage, your spouse could file at the consulate at
your home country
and you will get the visa after 3-4 months.This is the shortest process
for a green card.
Choice is yours.
