  • Fiancee VISA for the US (currently live in UK)

Hi my fiancee is a US citizen we met in the US in 2009. We genuinely love each other and want to get married and live in the US along with my teenage daughter.

I have full time employment and have done for nearly 7 years. The problem is my US fiancee has been out of work since at least early 2010. Before that he was going to school and working part-time. He has been trying to find work but has so far been unsuccessful.

I am worried that we will be refused the VISA because he won't be able to sponsor me.

I will be selling my house in the UK to come over, therefore i will not need financial support.

Will this be acceptable to the USCIS?

    HELP!!!!!!!

    hey

honestly i dont really know but i believe if you can prove that you have enough money to provide for yourself, your fiance should not have to sponsor you. you should wait for more people to reply though, because im not entirely sure

Also, I must add that he has a felony and is currently on probation

I do remember in the I-864 form there was a field where I could choose if I wanted my assets to be included in the financial support. But that was only after my visa was already approved and I was in the States. Your fiance can state a co-sponsor if his money is not enough. But that is one tough situation, since they ask for tax returns for past 3 years and it seems he was unemployed all that time! Good luck with everything!
