  • Calling USCIS

I called USCIS last night to check the status of my application. To speak directly to a humana, select the option that states you do not know your receipt number. I am Vermont.

This will put you to through a Tier 1 representative. A Tier 1 rep will pretty much just give generic information that we all have access to on the USCIS website. They cannot see you detailed information regarding your petition.

I then asked to be transfered to a Tier 2 representative. Tier 2 reps can actually see all of your information. I asked if my case has been transfered to an Officer yet. She advised that it has not, but that they are currently working on dates ranging from October 1st-October 31st 2012. The Tier 1 rep would just say October 1st. She was able to see things on my petition and provide more detailed information. It was nice to know that I was speaking to someone who had more access and could verify better information.

Being a November 29th NOA1, she advised that if I have not received my NOA2 within 58 days, that I should call back and request an expedited review, but she also advised that it would more than likely be completed before the 58 days.

To anyone who is a September or prior NOA1, I highly recommend to contact USCIS, request a Tier 2 rep, and request an expedited review
