  • Help Need Advise for a K1 Visa waiting time

    Hi,

I already have a tourist visa for 10yrs multiple entry. I went to the u.s.a for a month and come back in the philippines. My boyfriend just apply a K1 visa for me. I've heard that the waiting time is 5-7 months. I think that's too long in my case because I've been through the background check and all interviews in my tourist visa. Should it be more faster if I already have a tourist visa? or it doesn't matter. Advice's and comments are greatly appreciated.

    Much Thanks,

    Mia

    Same situation as you

    Mia,

My fiancee has a tourist visa as well so I hope that helps. However, the budget cuts a few weeks ago have cut every single department in the USA government. A failure to agree on a national budget between our two political parties has resulted in automatic budget cuts on all expendtures. Fiancee VISA's are a non essential item to the budget and I am expecting huge delays in the process.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Mia, but USCIS processes the I-129F applications in the order that they receive them. It doesn't make any difference it you already have a tourist visa or not. I filed my I-129F for my Filipina fiancé on Feb 11,2013 & just got the approval on 6/13/2013. It took 4 months & 2 days, & I was told that was quick. Now I've been told that it could take up to 90 days just for USCIS to forward it to NVC. Anyone who can get the whole process done in less than 6 months is a miracle worker!!!
