minimum US dollars in bank stat. for family with kids?

I would like to know if there is any expecting or minimum amount to be shown to chennai consulate in my bank stat.(US dollars)?

How much ball park number should we accumulate for a wife and husband with 2 kids?

Are you the US citizen or the beneficiary from India? If you are the beneficiary from India, they won't be interested in your bank statement. They want the bank statement of the US citizen. And for the I-134 Affidavit of Support, it very clearly states that the statement should show the amount of deposits in the past twelve months. I really don't think they care about how much exactly you have in your bank account because they can choose to suspect that someone else transferred all that money to your account just for the interview.

Thank you for your reply.I am a beneficiary from india not a US citizen. And, it came to my knowledge that they do chek the bank stats for enough savings to rear kids and family here in US.
