Hello
I filed for K1 Visa on 11/18/2013 and recently called to find out about status. The below is an email message I received today and I'm hoping you veterans can help me out better than USCIS.
"We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.
We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete."
What does this mean?? My fiance is from South Korea and has studied and worked in New York for last 10 years, she also has a SSN. Has anybody experienced this stage? Is this normal when filing for K1 visa? I'm hoping this doesn't take too long as we have set our wedding date to 4/26/2014 in South Korea. I'm hoping she'll have her visa approved and move back to United States by early May.
Can anyone offer me some help? Thank you
