  • Flew to USA on K1. Got married. How to notify the USCIS?

We got married on last Tuesday. We will leave back to Singapore on Friday.

I am the USC. She is from Myanmar.

We were very jet-lagged when we arrived and I am 49 so things were a bit fuzzy.

We have no plan to AOS because of our jobs in Singapore. The officer at the POE said to remember to notify the USCIS about our departure and marriage. How to do that?

Should i just ask at the exit?

What you were told is nonsense.

If you aren't going to submit an Adjustment package, just leave before her 90-day allowable visa stay is up.

Nobody at USCIS needs to know if you married. Her departure date will be a matter of record for any future immigration procedures.

The officer who told you that was just moving his lips.

It's even possible that the officer told you that, thinking it was important for him to say it. But your marriage and your departure from the U.S. are irrelevant to USCIS, until (and if ) your wife applies for a future immigration-related benefit.

I liked your earlier advice. "Tell them you changed your mind". I know others who brought their wives from Asia. The stress of the new culture was too much. They really should allow multiple visits so the spouse can ease into American culture.
