  • Wrong name in the application

    Hi there,

    I have annother dilemma.

Before paying $240 for the visa, I called the contact center of Manila US embassy to ask the procedure for the visa. The girl made me a profile and I don't know what "applicant" means that time (if petitioner and beneficiary). I asked and she just told me "the one who applied". So, I thought it would be my fiance. I gave his name, passport number and date of birth and she asked me to complete everything online. While doing it, I still don't understand and confused. I called again and that's the time I knew that the "applicant" is me.

Several calls I made before, during and after I paid, no one told me to change the information in the profile. The only mistake is the name, passport number and date of birth but the rest are correct. They keep on reiterating that it's non-refundable and non-transferrable which I understand. But my point is, confusion happened even before and no one advised me. I wasn't even the one who put those 3 information and the fact that I'm telling them on my next calls that I am the applicant. Until last Tuesday, the representative told me that the payment went through the profile which is under my fiance's name in the US.

My question is, would the embassy give me a consideration to change those information in the profile and use the amount I paid?

I already sent an email to [email protected] and [email protected].

I need your answer and suggestion to this scenario.

    Thanks!

By the way, I'm talking about the profile for the scheduling of interview here in Manila.

    Thanks!
