  • fiancé has child. chances?

I am a US citizen and my fiancé is trying to get a k1 visa. He is 21 years old and has a child (2 years old) from a previous relationship. The child lives with the mother and my fiancé does not have a relationship with her nor does he support her. The child will not be coming with us to the US now nor in the future.

My question is: will this hurt our chances of getting the k1 visa? I'm worried it will look as though he is trying to flee the situation. Should we try to get a document that says he does not have custody of the child?

    Thanks for your help.

Your fiance's child has nothing to do with your K1 procedure, except that his child will have eligibility to be treated as your stepchild for future immigration purposes.
