hello. i have few questions. can any one help. thanks.

1 as i understand, we can be either be sponsored by US citizen or green card holder. it takes 8-12 months of processing time for first documents submission/filing/whatever if the US person is US citizen and around 5 years if US person is only green card holder. in case of the US person is green card holder only, then during the period of arround 5 years, the partner/spouse of US person CAN NOT APPLY FOR ANY VISA EXCEPT WORK VISA WHICH IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET ANYWAY but, i want to confirm if the US person is citizen, then during 8-12 months, PARTNER/SPOUSE CAN APPLY FOR ANY VISA (SUCH AS VOSOT OR STUDENT), RIGHT?

2 what's difference between immigrant visa, conditional green card, and conditional permanent residence? and also, can you explain to me the flow of stages that the spouse/fiance of US person will go through. i mean: 1. marriage takes place 2. US person files docs; processing takes 8-12 months to arround 5 years depending upon variety of factors. after completion of processing, the fiance/spounse comes for 2 years to US on immigrant visa/conditional green card/conditional permanent residence. WHICH ONE OF THEM? I AM CONFUSED?...after two years, the conditions are removed. IS IT NECASSARY TO REMOVE? what if the US person tries to linger it on? CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THE NEXT STEPS FROM HERE? I MEAN HOW LONG THE DEPENDENCY REMAINS IN HANDS OF US PERSON? i mean, i am marrying the person because i love that person but recent discussion with my grandfather made me think I should at least know these things.

    3 i came across this:

"If you get married just to get the green card, it is a fraud and punishable crime, up to $250,000 (
Two hundred fifty thousand dollars) fine and up to 5 years in prison. Person can be stripped of U.S. citizenship
(if became U.S. citizen through this route) and deported out of the U.S."

what does "get married just to get green card" mean? i mean, there are lot of people who would consider settling in US a factor in choosing spouse but would intend to spend honest and sincere life with parter and have babies with US person. would it still be considered a crime? and if relations becomes bad with spouse and he/she exploits or falsely blames the person in court? i mean, it could get bad.

4 what is "Advance parole required mean"? it is an answer to "Travel outside US while pending green card" under fiance visa and K3 visa.

    5 What is EAD?

6 how does this website sustain? i.e. make money to sustain? how can i donate?

    thanks.

    Wk1,

It's impossible to respond to all your questions in one response, if you haven't made some effort to interpret what you have read.

    1. For starters, you must have a petitionable relationship with someone to be eligible for a U.S. visa. The "someone," the petitioner, must also be the primary financial sponsor for you.

    2. When petitioned, your goal is to obtain Permanent Resident status in the U.S., i.e, a Green Card.

    3. To "get married to get a Green Card," just means if your "intent is fraudulent."

    4. "Advance Parole" means a card which give you permission to reenter the U.S. before you have a Green Card.

    5. "EAD" is a card which gives you temporary permission to work in the U.S.

    6. "Sustained income" refers to proof of employment or other income source that is ongoing, i.e., not just temporary.
