Hello everyone. My name is Kenneth Schwall. I am a US citizen and I recently got married in the Philippines, to my wife who lives in the Philippines and she is a Filipino citizen. Im wondering if I should hire a immigration attorney or do it myself. I dont mind doing it myself I just need to know if I have questions or need some guidance will the US embassy or consulate provide the assistance I need or do they just take and process my paperwork.

Your immigrant petition will be submitted to USCIS, our immigration agency, Stateside, not to the Manila Embassy. You are not likely to even reach a live person at the Embassy to ask questions, and they will then be reluctant to guide you through the requirements, as that is not what they do.
Besides reading the form instructions (I-130 and G-325A), ask your specific questions here and you will get good responses. Submitting a petition package for a spouse is probably the simplest and easiest immigration procedure around, and only requires completion of two forms by you and one form by your wife, including supporting documents and $420 fee, and mailing to USCIS at the designated address found on http://www.uscis.gov/forms
