  • Crucial Question Concerning My Future

I have a really important question which I need some help with. What I need help with is this, recently I looked up online to renew my employment card as it runs out early next year, whilst I was online I noticed that it updated the status of the waiting time on people applying for green cards and said that it was now seeing people from something like July 2004. I had applied back in July 2003, so I assume that we must have been sent a letter or some such that we didnt receive. I never checked regarding this before now as in my last letter from Immigration they said not to get in contact regarding my status for until at least thirty six months which would be July 2006. Obviously I now need to telephone Immigration and let them know that I didnt receive anything and find out whats next, I presume that its either going to be good news or bad news. They may say that I have been approved and that my green card was sent to me or they may say to me something like we need to arrange an interview before we approve you or maybee even turn me down. I want to call and find out either way but I am concerned for this reason, my wife at the moment is four months pregnant and I want to be at my babys birth, this will not be possible if I am deported back to England where I am originally from and my wife wont be able to come back there until the Summer of next year because of her work contract, not being able to fly because of being pregnant and obviously tying up loose ends etc. On the other hand if we go ahead now and I do have to go back to England before our babys born, my wife can secure a loan through her job which would help finance me going back and getting things ready for my wife and baby to come and live next Summer. What I need people to tell me is this, would Immigration have given me employment authorisation and given permission for it to be renewed again for a second year if I had been denied residence or are the different departments of Immigration so fragmented that one message may not get through to another department ? How good are they ? Do Immigration always give residencey without an interview ? Or do they do both ? How quick can Immigration arrange an interview before seeing me ? How long after that interview if they turn you down for residence does it usually take before you get to be deported ? Would dragging it out in appeals if they did turn me down give me the time that I would need to be here for the birth which is in April next year ? I need help here guys, what should I do ? What would you do ? Would you gamble and are the odds on my side ?
