Hello

To receive this marriage certificate, do you actually have to perform the marriage ceremony? Could we just schedule an appointment with local county government center and get the marriage certificate with application and supporting documents? We do plan on getting married, but trying to get that certificate in time for AOS application and then plan for marriage later.

A marriage license must be officiated with a ceremony conducted by a government employee or a legally-authorized clergy person and registered before you are legally married and a certificate issued.
