Hi my name is Jen and I've been going out with a guy that live's in the U.S. We met when I was studying at USC and started dating as students. Due to the nature of my course I wasn't allowed to go for OPT and try for a work VISA in the U.S. thus I returned home to the Philippines. We kept going out and now we've reached our 5 year together, I have a tourist visa that I would use to visit him most holidays. Now we decided to get married, I've heard that it is easier to apply for a K1 visa and get married in the U.S.
Do I just apply for a K1 visa and enter the U.S. using that? Am I allowed to hold more than one type of U.S. visa at a time, or is there something I can do to change my visa type. Just to make sure, I'm not planning on entering the U.S. using the tourist visa and getting married, I'm asking how should I go about the K1 visa. Thanks!
