A person I have been in a relationship with project unexpectedly just ended at work (California) and was told that she has 10 days before her business visa is officially expired.
The intention down the road (before this happened) was eventually getting engaged/married but not quite sure what to do now as it seems she has no choice but to go back to NZ.
She is currently doing some freelancve journalism work (reporting mostly for an overseas news broadcaster) until her 10 days are up.
Is engagement even a possibility at this point? Or is there any way to get an extension to have more time to sort this out?
Other details (if relevant):
Has been in country on business visa for over a year
Relationship has been less than a year
Home country is New Zealand
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
