You are applying for a CR-1 or IR-1 spousal visa, not K3 visa.

Syrian police records are nto currently required by the National Visa Center or any interviewing Embassy.

      I-130 and I-129F

Need a little clarifications on I-130 and I-129F process.

I filed I-130 and after the notice of action arrived, filed the I-129F there after. Received both the notice of action for I-130 and I-129F in that order. Also received the I-130 notice of approval today. The priority date is Sept 02 2014.

Wondering what happens I-129F approval? Does it stay or it gets closed by NCV because I-130 is approved?

Sponsoring my husband from India and I'm a US citizen.

I really wanted to follow the I-129F route as it's quicker.

Looks like the I-130 route could be a year or more vs just a few months for I-129F.

      Any advice? Thanks.

You filed the I-129F after you filed the I-130, with the expectation that a K3 spousal procedure would be started.

The two petitions will be joined, then approved at the same time (usually). At any rate, the I-130, if approved at same time or before the I-129F, will be forwarded to the National Visa Center, after which sponsorship and civil document fees and processing will start.

The I-130 processing at the National Visa Center will last about 4-8 weeks, after which an appointment date will be set. The I-129F will not go anywhere, as K3 visas (from the I-129F) are no longer routinely processed.

The sponsorship processing fee that you pay to the National Visa Center is $120, after which you can submit the I-864 and supporting documents.

                        Besren,

The $88 you paid was the older sponsorship processing fee. It has since been increased, but the increase does not affect you.

The $325 you paid was the immigrant visa fee (for a CR-1 or IR-1 visa, depending on length of marriage). Forget about the K3 visa, as once you have reached this stage of CR-1 processing, you are not eligible to continue with K3 visa processing.

The next fee you pay will be for an immigrant medical exam, which can be from $200 to $500, depending on country in which you will be processed (Philippines is about $240; Switzerland close to $500).

After the visa is issued, there is a $165 Green Card issuance fee, which has to be paid online to USCIS.

You have to wait until you have further instructions from the NVC, along with an appointment date.
