  • Quickest way to get my future wife into USA

    Hi Forum,

Need help to best navigate me to get future wife here in the USA quickest, as i know the spousal route is quite long.

At present we are not married, just engaged, she is in Pakistan.

Should I ask her to apply for a tourist Visa?

Should I ask her to apply for a fiancé Visa?

Once she gets one of the above, i will then fly back with my family and do the formal marriage ceremony, we have 2 functions in our Pakistani Marriages, so will also do 1 function here in the USA.

    pls advise ppl, thanks!

Quickest way is a visitor visa, but there is a high rate of denials for visitor visas.

The fiancee visa is next best option, but any indication of a marriage already completed could cause problems with obtaining or using a fiancee visa.

A spousal visa will take about 7-11 months, from submittal of paperwork to Embassy interview.

      OK noted, thanks.

      Q. So if I ask her to go ahead and apply for Tourist Visa, and if she gets Refused, do i have to wait before I can do a spousal application, or can we do so immediately.

      Q. Also if we do get refused in Tourist visa, then while applying via Spousal, Do they ask in the spousal application if applicant has gotten refused entry in the past? Could the tourist refusal further delay a spousal application?

      Thanks Guys!

A visitor visa denial is quite common and is usually done "without prejudice" against future visa applications (fiancee, spousal, etc.)

          Ok noted.

          Q. So if my fiancé gets her tourist visa and then lands here in the USA say Jan 1, 2015, & then we get married and we start her spousal application from inside the USA say example we submit spousal around Feb 1st, 2015.

My Question is then, what happens to the Tourist visa during the transition period till the spousal gets completed.

I mean the tourist visa will have an expiry date to it, yes. Or will they extend it or how will they treat it….?

Because once the tourist visa expires, then she would have to leave prior to that, yes.

          Thanks Guys!
