I have applied to transfer my Indian visa from an old passport with my maiden name to my new passport with my married name. But after submitting the application, I recieced an email that my application is incomplete and missing document for renunciation of Indian citizenship. I was born in India and am a naturalized US citizen and have been for over 10 years now. I have a valid Indian visa in my old US passport. Since I'm just transferring the visa, why am I being asked for renunciation document? Also, I don't even have my old Indian passport which is required for renunciation, as I haven't used it or needed it since I recieced the Indian visa.
Has anyone gone through this process yet? I have tried calling and sending emails enquiries but I can't get through on the phone and no reply yet to the email either.
