Is getting an alien number a good thing?

I AM NEW TO THIS AND the only update they have given me is that my case recieved a new alien number. I wondered if this is normal or if this is a positive sign that we will get approved?

Also was wondering how often do women get apprival for a male fiance? And how often(if ever) have approvals been given when there are sufficient circumstances keeping you from meeting?
