  • Few more questions about I-129F

    1) Can I sign documents for my fiance if she is overseas? and would I sign my name or her name with her permission?
    2) What is the best way to get documents translated? She is from Korea. And does the medical exam need to be translated as well? Because I know that sometimes they make you do that the day of the interview.

    Thank you in advance

You cannot sign the G-325A for your fiancee.

The medical exam, if completed at an Embassy-designated medical facility in Korea, should be in English and Korean already (I could he wrong), but it is used for the Embassy, not stateside.

Okay. Then I need to have her fill it out and scan it to me?

No, she has to sign it and postal mail or courier send the original signature version, along with her signed Statement of Intent (to marry within 90 days).

Every Consulate has slightly different procedures for preparing for interviews. They will either allow your fiancee to schedule her own interview online, or they ask her to submit a "readiness" questionnaire and then send her an interview notice.

Generally, regardless of which procedure they use, interviews are averaging 6-10 weeks after the Consulate receives the case from the National Visa Center.
