  • Do you loose your original nationality after the status change

    Hi All,

I'm from the UK and looking to move over with my girlfriend. One thing I haven't been able to work out yet is that if we do this and get married I'd have to apply for the Status Change visa and go through that process. Once that is complete do I then loose my British citizenship as well? Or can I keep both?

Thanks in advance for any info!

No. Applying for Permanent Residency or "landed" status in another country does not affect your UK citizenship.
