In your country may be different, so read the instructions and prepare everything for your interview day.
Hi I already have a copy if his ID and Birth Cert etc.....but copy only.....Do they require the ORIGINAL?

Also yes I did wonder when to book the Interview date and if you could cancel it etc......we you need to get the Medial booked too don't you, so it's good to know you can canx 2 times if you need to.
      Thank you.!

Does anyone have any idea how many days / weeks (on average) it takes for the NVC to receive your file after the USCIS Approval date?

          HI, thank you,

I looked all over Google and can not see that the US Embassy in London ask for the Original Birth Cert of the American Citizen you are applying to marry.
Can someone who has been through the Interview in the US Embassy for London for the K-1 Fiancé Visa please confirm on this for me?????

          Thanks ;0)

              I don't know, I haven't got that far yet.
I tracked my case after it was with the NVC and it now says ''In Transit'' which I know means it has left the NVC in America and is on it's way to the Embassy in London.
From Google, I think it takes about a week to get there and then another week or so to get a letter from the Embassy?
Do you know how long ago your case was sent over to the Embassy?

Well last week I got a letter from the US Embassy staying I could now do the nest steps......The DS 160 online.......Get my Medical Done......Get all my documents ready for my interview .......and then submit the Readiness form to them.

From what their letter said at the bottom, after all that is done is can take up to 6 weeks before you get your Interview letter from them!

But they also say the letter should be with me bout 4 weeks prior to the Interview date given, so that's a little confusing anyway......maybe that means I should get a letter within the next 2 weeks? Not sure at all!

I also thought I had to schedule the interview myself for my K-1 Fiancé Visa, but the letter seems to state they will send me the interview date.

                Anyone know?????

So, I will let you know what happens next. and how long my case stays at the NVC which is where I think it goes next.
If anyone has been to that stage and has any tips let me know.

Omg congratulations , now you can plan your wedding
There are still no updates for my case but im hoping i ll hear something very soon. It is kinda confusing and im worried because i was just one day after you and u got the approval one month ago ... What are the next steps after the approval ? How fast u can go back ?
                  Congratulations again

I would not worry they are still doing Sept 2014 approvals now!
One it has been approved by the NSCIS they send it within a week in my case to the NVC (also in the USA).....My case is the K-1 Fiance Visa, so the NVC don't tend to hold these cases for more than a few days, they simply register it and give you a NEW Case Number (which mind started with LND as my case is going to a London Embassy). Then they sent it on to the Embassy in your country where you will have your interview. That can take about a week or so to reach them after it leaves the NVC.
As soon as it has left the NVC you can track your case on the CEAC site. But you will need your new case number from them to do that. I had called them to get that as they did send a letter with it on to my Fiance in the USA but he got the letter from them after the Embassy had already got the forms!. There are two main statuses at this point on the CEAC Checker:
In Transit – This one means your case is on its way from the NVC to the Embassy (London in my case).
Ready – This one means the Embassy has your case file and is waiting to receive something needed to progress your case. You may begin submitting forms and booking the medical. I found as per usual the Embassy wont take calls, everything is done by email when takes days / weeks to get a reply. So you will get a letter fro the embassy, mine came about 2 weeks after they had the papers so tell me to book my medical, get my docs ready for interview, do the DS-160 online and to then finally do the Readiness form online.
I have done all of that and so now I am awaiting my interview letter??? It says online it can take 6 weeks to get to you and that you have 4 weeks notice before your interview date.....all seems such a long wait so really no plans can be confirmed until I get my interview letter / date.

                      Got My Interview Letter Finally

Well finally this week I got my Interview letter, so my Visa is now paid for, the courier address for the return service is sorted and paid for and now I just await the big day, and pray lots!
It will have been 9 months from application of the I-129F to my interview date....not great but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
So I would say assuming I get the visa, it will be another 1-2 months before I am over there, as I have heard it can take 3-7 working days to get the visa back, and I have also seen a site that said 10-15 working days, so that could be another 2-3 weeks wit after interview to even get your passport and docs back....so I am not risking flying too soon after in case my papers are not back.
The whole process has been very stressful and still is. I mean they say NOT to book flights, or pay for wedding venues etc until you have your visa....but after already being apart for this length of time who wants to wait to then try to book things....by then everything is booked up for months! So my next mission is planning stuff on the hope I get the visa!
The stress isn't over yet that's for sure...but I have my interview date finally!

getting passport back after K-1 Fiance Interview

right well due to conflicting info on google, I called the US Embassy Interview schedule number as that is the only way possible I have found you can speak to anyone there and asked them how long it takes to for your docs to be sent back to you after the interview if you get approved, she said 7-10 days. Then I emailed the US Embassy and asked the same thing and was advised it takes 10-15 working days. So that could be another 3 weeks after interview! So I wouldn't book flights too close in case docs are not back in time!
                        More waiting ;(

                              Congratulations Nyben on your nuptials.

I think you will get better assistance if you created your own thread in the correct sub-forum: Immihelp -> Immigration USA -> Family Based Greencard

You are on someone elses thread, on a topic not applicable to you, in a sub-forum that is not applicable to you.

Texas Service Centre Wait times 9 months +

Can anyone advise me why the US Government is OK with processing times being double the maximum stated?
I sent off my application for the I129F in January and it was 'lost' so I sent it again at the start of March.
I have checked the Texas Service Centre times and they are processing September 2014.
I have called USCIS customer services but they won't speak to me without the petitioner present. It's pretty upsetting as I am in the UK and he is (obviously) in the US. As he is in the Navy he doesn't get time to call the centre during their opening times.
The automated service just says 'no information on this receipt number at this time'
When he did manage to call on a rare day off they couldn't give him a status update either.
I saw that there was an ombudsman service. I called them and they require you to fill out a form for them to look in to things. The ridiculous thing is that the form cannot be downloaded from access via servers outside of the US! Even the PDF download version wouldn't load. Don't know if it's broken or again a licencing issue. I have never had that happen before.
My fiance only has a few months back in November when we were hoping to get married to comply with the visa timescales, which I thought was perfectly reasonable. Now it seems like it's going to be over a year before we can get married.
OK so this has been a bit of a vent post if I am honest but I just wanted to know:
                                1. Have any other applicants had this problem, where USCIS won't speak to them?
                                2. Does anyone have personal expereince of hte Texas Service Centre processing times to know if this is actually correct?
                                3. Does anyone know if the processing times quated is for people actually receiveing their visa or is is just the date of applications they are considering?
                                4. Are there rough time guideleines for how long it takes them to process applications once they are dealing with them?
                                5. Has anyone had any experience of the Ombudsman service? Is it worth encouraging people to complain so that maybe they are scruitinised and it's brought tot he Government's attention and possibly the press how badly they are failing (it is public money after all and they should be accountable).
                                6. Does anyone know how long the process takes for UK applicants once the Service CEntre has done their bit?

Thanks in advance for any assistance. It's really testing our relationship and we're so exhausted with how hard it seems to be. Wish we hadn't taken so long to be sure about getting married in the first place. We were looking in to it and told 6 months.
