Hello All,
I have a unique situation. I filed for a fiancee visa in July and finally USCIS got back to me.
They are requesting for additioanl information to prove that we can get remarried. Here is the situation.
My wife's ex husband was a doctor serving injured civilians on the Turkey/Syria border as part of a charity organization. He died over there and no offcial death certificate was obtained. CNN, BBC and other websites covered this. I submitted these links and screen shots of those websites along with a document from the CEO of the charity organization. A hospital in the UK also posted a link about his death.
I submitted all this info, but the USCIS has asked for a document that has been registered with a civil authority. I am not exactly sure what a civil authority means and how I can get this information from the UK( I live in the US) I have emailed the hospital that posted the link to see if they can provide a document, but I am not sure if they can as the death happened in a different country and I can't get anything from there.
How do I provide this infomration?
