I have a girlfriend in HK and I am wondering how to get her to the US and working as quickly as possible.
I have used the flowchart on this site and according to that if I marry her outside the US then file an I-130 and then an I-485, she would be able to come to the US and start work right away. But do to the lag time between getting a I-485 approved and the I-130 expiring, is this a realistic possibility?
The other option is the K-1 visa. Which seems to be approved quicker then the I-130. But even if we get married right away, how long would it take before she can start working? Should I file for a EAD or just go straight for the I-485?
Any help or input would be appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. I did have an earlier post that mentioned we were married, but unfortunately we are still discussing which route to go.
