  • Processing time at NVC? Has it changed?

I called the NVC to get some information regarding my case. Well USCIS approved my case 2 weeks ago so I figured it would be ready for work at the NVC. The customer service guy said they hadn't received it. So I ask how long it takes to receive and create a case... the guy says 49 days currently. First off thats very specific. Second, it goes against everything I've heard up to now. Most resources say 2 to 4 weeks or maybe 2 weeks or 10 days.

    Can anyone advise?

They read off a script. Ignore what they said and keep trying. Our approval date was March 16th. Sent to NVC on March 24th. Called this morning and I was given the 49 day story. I called this evening and was told they have received my case. They said to allow a month for the case number to be assigned. I will call tomorrow and expect it to be available, failing which, at least the next day. Persistence is the key here. Good luck

Thanks for the info. I wonder if they can find a package that has been sent to them or do they just sit in a big mail pile until someone gets to them.

How do you know what date it was mailed to the NVC? My approval date was 17 March so I imagine it would be relatively close to yours.
