Hi, i am a US citizen by birth and am getting married in India. My future wife is an Indian citizen but has an existing B-2 tourist visa for US, and is currently in India. We are planning to do a court wedding in a couple of weeks in India followed by a religious ceremony a month later in India as well. I do not want her to wait in India after the religious ceremony. What is the best way for me to bring her to US fastest?
A few more questions I would really appreciate you answering:
1. If I start the K-3 visa process (immediately after court marriage), how long would it take for her to be able to travel and stay in US?
2. If I start K-3 process, can she travel on her B-2 visa for the time it takes K-3 to process, or does the B-2 visa get cancelled as soon as K-3 application is put in?
3. Is K-1 visa possible if we don't get our marriage registered in court in India? I have heard it is might be faster to get her to US this way..
Are there any other options? Which one would you recommend so that I can get her to come to US fastest after marriage in India. Please advise.
