  • K1 - 3 month Fiance Visa Question

    Hi There,
Is it absolutely required to fill out a I-129F form to receive a K1 - 3 month Fiance Visa.
I currently am in France met my French fiance here, he renewed his passport (lived in America for 5 years and has been back in France for 3 years now)
His passport had expired so he renewed this but at the same time applied for a 3 month Fiance Visa at the local consulate agency where we live. I will be traveling back to the US in June. He will follow the end of July and we plan to marry in August/September within the 3 month time frame. I know we did not fill out a I-129F form nor was it requested from the consulate where his passport was renewed and his request for the Visa was made. Will this be a problem once he is over in the US with his Visa? That is if he even receives it. I am confused if it is 100% necessary at this point. Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is I-129F required? Yes! There is no way around this requirement. You will need lots of documentation of your relationship with the US Citizen. It will also take longer than three(3) months. Right now USCIS is processing I-129F in about 6-8 months because of high volume of cases. This helped me put my package together. Google "Fiance' Visa Application Process" and you will find some step by step tips on how to put together a application package.
