Keeping B1/B2 visa after K1 visa is issued
Hello,
My F-129 was already approved and case was forwarded to the consulate on May 3rd 2015. My estimate is that the information package may be delivered in around 4 weeks and that it will take some other 4 weeks to have all paperwork complete. Given this timeframe the visa interview will likely happen in mid August 2015.
Our plan is for my Fiancee to travel to USA in January 2016 and get married ASAP (I-485 follows). But my stepson's college registration process starts in November 2015, for which both my Fiancee and him will need to visit USA to get all this registration process sorted out (Note that her intention is not to get married at that time).
Thus my question is somehow complex: is the current B1/B2 visa revoked when the K1 visa is issued? If that is the case what options are there to travel to the US in between times (K1 issued and Entry to US with the intention to get married) (I remember my B1/B2 was revoked without prejudice when my H1B was issued, but H1B allows multiple entries while K1 only allows entry once, or am I wrong?)
