  • Question about fiancé visa

I have a question about a fiance visa that i hope you can assist with.
I am planning on going to visit my foreign fiance in August and then plan on submitting her paperwork for a fiance visa.
We have decided to wait until after this visit to file just because it has been almost 2 years since we were last able to see each other.

The problem we have is this.
Due to religious reasons her family is not likely to allow her to travel until we are married.
In Egypt the only way to legally marry is in court and church marriage is not recognized as it is not a legal marriage.
the only legal way to marry there and have it recognized by the US government is through the courts.

if after her fiance visa was approved would it still be legal for us to have a church ceremony in Egypt for her family
and still be able to use a fiance visa for the marriage in the USA?

I know the process for a fiance visa can be shorter and with time and travel restrictions we wont be able to marry on this visit anyway.
The goal would be to get the visa, go to Egypt for a church ceremony, then come home together to the US for a wedding here.

    Is this legal?

Yes that is fine. Religious and social ceremonies have no legal effect.
