Taking too long

I filed the I-129F back in July. When I contacted USCIS in October they said they were waiting for the background check information. I contacted them again in December and received the same reply. How long does it take for them to do a background check? My fiancee lives in Cameroon. Is this something her country is checking or a process being conducted in the US??

It is difficult to predict or give estimate regarding its timeline.

Date change

I checked the uscis web site and my I had received an update from them. They stated that it is taking between 60 and 90 days to process this type of application. WOW I sent the documents in July. Well at least I received an update. Maybe things are moving again.
