Is it OK for my fiance to visit me on a visitor's visa while awaiting for K-1?

Hello All,

I am a US citizen through naturalization. My girlfriend is a Chinese citizen. Currently I am planning to file a petition for my girlfriend/fiance to come to US to marry me.

She has a visitor's visa with multiple entrances valid for 10 years. And she came to US several times in the past for leisure and business.

While awaiting for approval of her K-1 visa, is it OK for he to come and visit (lasting 2-3 weeks each time) me using her visitor's visa? Would this move causes any troubles?

Yes, she can visit but be aware that all travelers to the US are subject to inspection at the port of entry by an immigration officer who has the right to deny admissions. You will need to proof that she's not intending to immigrate into the US. Documents to proof it might be:
- Employment letter
- Student ID
- Or a strong relationship with your family

It will also help if she brings a copy of her I-129F and some correspondence with you. In worst case, they will try to call you when she's in the "interview room". There are many valid reasons to meet while the visa is pending, such as engagement party, introduction to family as well as to renew a relationship with the prospective spouse.

Thanks for your help. Bringing a copy of I-129F would be an excellent idea. Logically, my fiancee has a valid visitor's visa. If she had intention to marry me and stay here, why would I have bothered to file a petition for her K-1 visa, right?
