  • Couple questions

I want to marry a guy i met at my holiday in Illinois. He is 3 years older, never married before, has a 18months old son and is a UScitizen.
He lives in Illinois and I would like to live there with him. At the moment i live in Holland.

If I get married to him and apply for a greencard, can I wait for the greencard in the US or do i have to go home?
    - If I can stay, can I (in the meantime)get a job, open a bankaccount, register for a US driverslicence, etc? And if not, what is it I CAN
    do in that meantime?

Thank you so much upfront for the advice.

    Every tip is welcome!

If you marry and stay in the U.S., your new husband must submit an I-130 petition for you, along with an I-485 Adjustment package. These can be submitted at the same time for a total of $1,490. You must also include an immigrant medical exam report on form I-693 in a sealed envelope.
