  • How to answer question 28 of form 129f

I hope I am doing this correctly.

I have lived with my fiance for four years in Ecuador although I am a US citizen. We are filling out the form 129f for a K-1 visa. Part 2, question 28 asks where my fiance will live in the United States upon arrival. Herein lies my problem. Although I have a US bank and Federal and State retirement income all going to my daughter's address in the US, I do not have a domocile. Our plan was, once the initial petition was approved, to travel to the US, rent or buy a home to re-establish my domocile prior to his application and interview with the US Consulate in Ecuador.

What should I put for my answer as to where he plans on residing if we have not acquired a US home at this time? Should I put the address where I receive my mail and include a letter of intent to re-establish domocile or just provide the letter of intent? I want to get this right the first time. My last choice is to use the address where my mail is currently as we have no intention of living there.

Thank you for helping. We plan on filing the petition as soon as this is cleared up and we know how to respond properly on the application.

    Thanks again.

Use an address in the U.S at which you can receive mail, then travel to the US with your fiance when he gets his visa, and immediately do an address change once in the U.S., using the online address change website for USCIS at: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do
You will need the address change to connect to your fiance using the "A" number form his I-129F approval Notice of Action.
