Would like to live together first

So, here's my situation. I met a great guy while I was visiting Mexico on grindr. Believe it or not, our meeting has been plutonic to this point. We talked via text, Skype and ******** for about a week before I left to come home to the U.S. We have continued talking for the last couple of months. Without ever having met him in person, I adore everything about him. The problem is that I can't figure out a way to get him to visit without a major issue. We've considered the K1, but we want to live together for a while before we make a huge decision. 90 days is not enough. I plan to see him in December in Mexico again, but other than the K1 or short of his getting a job here (he's a biochemist), it seems impossible to get a visa.
