How Long?

I have just heard from the NVC and they have processed my paperwork for my CR-1. They do still require some documents but I can bring those to my interview. I have been told they will now contact the US Consulate in Sydney Australia to arrange interview date. Does anybody know how long it should be before I hear anything?

Give it about 2-3 weeks

Give it about 2-3 weeks before the embassy receives it and then contacts you/spouse. If not, I believe you can check the status online at ceac.state.gov that's ceac (dot) state (dot) gov by using the case number you got from the NVC.

I contacted NVC and was told they receive a certain number of interview vacancies from the embassy only once a month. Is this correct and does that mean we could be waiting another six months before the interview date. I'll be able to cope but it's my wife that I'm concerned about. She's at the end of her tether at the moment and lost any patience that she had
