  • Unusually fast K1 approval

    Hi all,

Has anyone else experienced a K1 approval after only one month?

I mailed out my I-129F K1 Fiance visa packet on October 19 to the Dallas Lockbox. It was then accepted on October 27th and forwarded to the California Service Center. I unexpectedly received my NOA-2 in the mail on November 23rd. Checking the status online... it says "On November 19, 2015, we approved your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E) .../"

I meticulously followed the "step-by-step" guide on some other website, and left no box blank, so that there wouldn't be any ambiguity. I'm in Texas and my fiance is in Vietnam by the way.

K1 petition approvals in 30+ days are not that unusual, usually out of the California Service Center. The Texas Service Center, however, has taken 6-8 months, with no particular problems, to approve many K1 petitions.

      Congrats, you're fortunate

Congrats on the approval. Don't waste anytime getting ready for the next steps for the embassy.
But, like Rayb mentioned, it's normal for approval timelines to be anywhere from 1 month to several months.
      --Good luck--
Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.
