Long story made short--I got married and I applied for an I-130 application for my spouse with an expedited request made for humanitarian reasons (g235a also sent).
The application was received however the request for expedited approach was not available on system when I called to confirm receipt and inquire if the request for expedited request was/is considered, as per the representative. As the rep indicated, she cannot see what they see in the main office and could only provide "basic" information, though she was nice. She indicated the request for the expedited request did not appear on the computer, though I sent in a paper form with explanation for the request (war-torn state), and she would generate an electronic request; this was done and I was to receive an email communication with decision in 5 days. Unfortunately for me, the representative that assisted me decided to enter my email incorrectly so the email went no where (i opened a google account to the email address they sent it to and it appeared that I was first to make that request, no email was found as this was newly created). The representative indicated that there was communication sent to me via email with instructions from the USCIS. INSTRUCTIONS you say?
Yes, there was a request for more evidence. What type of evidence remains to be seen as I now have to wait up-to five additional days to receive a new email of the original email. The agony!
The purpose of this thread is to request assistance for preparation for what may come??
In order to give a clear picture for feedback please see the below for what was sent in.
-I-130 and G-325A (one for petitioner and one for my wife)
-Copy of our marriage certificate (translated and original language copies)
-Copy of my US citizenship
-Copy of my social security card
-Copy of our hotel reservation with my name and hers listed at the top
-Copy of the wedding ring set receipt
-Copy of email communications between myself, congressman and Chief US Consulate which confirms my presence in the state of marriage
-Copy of my travel itinerary with my name clearly visible
-Copy of wedding pictures of the bride and groom alone and with family and priest
-Copy evidence to support request for humanitarian reasons expedited processing (war-torn state.. Articles provided to illustrate impact on area she lives in)
I tried to be as thorough as possible with this request to avoid situations like this resulting in delays but I failed, apparently.
I have two theories in my mind about what the request for evidence could be: further evidence to support the humanitarian request or further evidence of marriage. I suspect that they approved the request for expedited processing because they are requesting evidence though I'm just guessing here.
Well.....That's my story and I would STRONGLY appreciate any feedback to give me insight on what possibly could be the hold-up and how to prepare to address the request for more evidence once received...
