Documents that need translating

Hi everyone,

I am from the Netherlands, but living in the UK. I have my original birth certificate and later on I am getting my police records as well. I wanted to check. Once I have got both documents translated, will it also have to been notarized? On some websites it says that it does need to be notarized and some sites it doesn't. Please help. Notarizing in the UK costs about £120.00 if done by the public notarizing service. So if it does need to be notarized, does anyone also know where it could be done cheaper? Thanks for your help.
