I am 10 weeks pregnant and a US Citizen. My boyfriend and I were planning to get married this year (nothing concrete), but things happened a bit out of order. Now, with the threat of Zika, I don't feel comfortable traveling back to Jamaica while I'm pregnant. We want to be together and I would like him to be here when the baby is born, but I think a K1 will take too long. There's a visitor's visa, but that's up in the air whether it would be approved or not in the first place and if we decided to get married on that visa we could really be in hot water if they felt we planned to marry all along (my understanding of this). Is there any type of consideration given with any visa if a child is on the way that would help to expedite things? Not sure what to do at this point.

Pregnant US Citizen - Best visa for father to come to US?

Despite your concern about a visitor visa denial or perception that his application is a "planned intention to marry," a visitor visa is your guy's best option now, because of the pregnancy. If that fails, your best remaining option is a fiancee visa, which may average about 6 months, possibly being approved before you give birth, or about the same time.
