  • K1 co sponsor affidavit of support help; Packet sent to Embassy

I have a question which I've tried googling and searching the forum here and get conflicting reports on. Me and my fiance are approved from the NVC and her information was sent to her country. The embassy sent her the packet in which she needed to collect everything and I need to fill out an affidavit of support.

I am cosponsoring with my mother who makes more income as I currently don't make the amount needed. Are me and her filling out the I-864, I-134, or both?

    Also unrelated:
I know its country specific, but is there anything else I needed to send her? This is what we had determined but i want to make sure im not missing some well known thing that is supposed to be sent in as well

    1. Copies of all documents (Original Packet sent in)
    2. More proof of ongoing relationship photos
    3. Messages/calls/tickets
    4. Birth certificate (copy of the original and a legalized translation into English and country)
    5. Non-impediment document (translation into English)
    6. Court certificate from the Ministry of Justice(prison records)
    7. Medical papers (after scheduled interview)
    8. Affidavit of Support, I-134 or I-864
    9. DS-160 = confirmation page
    10. Photos for visa, passport size ones
    11. Copies of letters that I have received in the mail of confirmations/acceptance steps
    12. New letters of intent of Marriage with new dates

    Am i missing anything obvious?

    Thank you everyone!!!

    Dset,

You and your mom must each provide separate I-134 forms with original signatures and supporting documents. Some Consulate posts are reluctant to allow co-sponsors for K1 visas; varies by why you are using co-sponsor (student or medically dependent are best reasons).

Your gal must have "original" or certified versions of civil documents to take to interview, as your petition submittal should have only contained copies.

Thank you for your response, we both filled out the I-134.
As for the packet, I suppose copies will have to do in my case seeing as i sent in the original signed paperwork to them....Other items were copies but most were original signed paperwork. Will have to see what happens when she goes to her interview, does she need the items with her? or is it just something they want, When translating her paperwork from the embassy, it made no mention to any of the 129F paperwork
