  • Med Exam Scheduling for fiance before or after interview in Holland - Netherlands

    Hello,

My fiancé who lives in the Netherlands is trying to become a U.S citizen. It seems like we are almost near the final stretch before the interview and have a few questions regarding the medical exam process.

In some countries, i.e. Philippines, I see that the medical exam is required prior to the interview. However, she tells me that the paper work/check list she received states that the medical instructions will be given to her after she accumulates all the satisfied documents ( birth cert, i-134, police report, visa photos) and submits for the interview appointment.

Some of the logistics sounds a bit odd based on all the read. Again, perhaps its different for the Dutch. In any case, does this make any sense? I though you need to make a medical appointment before the K1 interview.

I understand the K1 doesn’t get approved right after the interview. But I assume it will only prolong the process since you would be going to the interview without the Medical records being satisfied.

Can someone please shed some light on the medical exam scheduling for the Netherlands?

    Many thanks,

    Robert

In all U.S. consulates that I am aware, the medical exam must be completed before the interview or the interview won't be able to reach an approval determination.

      I see.

So once she reaches out to the consulate to make an appointment for the K1 interview, she will receive a medical schedule/locations?

      all the best..

The exact instructions vary by Consulate location.

Generally, contacting the Embassy drives medical exam location and instruction info.

I've sent you a PM, but it doesn't show on my sent inbox.
Wanted just to ask you if you received it?
          Thank you very much!
