My dad wants me to sponsor his spouse to come to the United States from Laos. Before I give him an answer what are the pros and cons? Is there another option to getting his spouse here without me or anyone else sponsoring. I just don't want to be liable (in the future) for anything that doesn't benefit me. He doesn't have any assets beside a car that is worth around $25,000 all paid off and maybe $5,000 in his bank account. He lives with me and I make around $60k annually. Any ideas and experience you've had would help.
