I hope this is posted in the right topic. I am from Serbia and live in Serbia still but I have been granted a business visa for the USA for three years, a few months ago. My fiance, also Serbian finished her phd in this time and we decided it was best to get married and did so a month ago and then sent marriage papers to the embassy here in Belgrade to get her approved as a spouse so she could come with me to move this summer to the USA. She can maybe get sponsored from a USA company on her own, or a special skills visa in her field but both would not guarantee she can stay in the states as my business visa allows me to do for a longer period. We were advised by a lawyer here but I am concerned about this process because we got married so close to putting the papers through for the marriage visa as well as we have not ever lived together, she was in school in another country and she is still living there now as the papers are being looked at. We had to get married quickly in order to get this processed but i am now hearing this may be looked at as a problem as well as never living together. I am wondering if we have been ill advised by the lawyer here as I am now hearing from others we may have made a mistake in doing this and may be denied. I don't want to lose my business visa as it was very hard to get. Any advise?
