  • My Fiance messed up.. help

    Hello,
My Fiance in the US has filed the K1 petition, we made sure to follow all instructions accurately. Accept that he forgot to put in our boarding passes, tickets and visa stamp and photos of us together as a proof that we met this year in Qatar (even though mentioning it how we met in the I-129 form). I am from India. And our families met together and we had a small engagement ceremony. The petition was filed this month with everything else complete. He said that he can be called in for the Interview if they needed proof. I am nervous. Are they going to reject his petition, because he forgot to give any documents as proof -__- or God forbid we need to file again? Help.

Other's may have for experience, but I would hope that you would get an RFE asking for those documents. Did your fiancee include a cover letter that specified that proof was included?
    Scott and Annalyn's Journey

    April 22, 2016 - Sent I-129F
April 25, 2016 - Received at Lockbox Facility
April 28, 2016 - Electronic notification of receipt with case number (NOA1)
May 6, 2016 - Physical NOA1 received in the mail
And the waiting begins for NOA2 or RFE

Thank you for replying, He included the cover letter but he didn't specify that proof was included (cause it simply wasn't), only the two G-325A's and our letters of intent with the I-129 form and our photos. and that's it. *fingers crossed*

Don't worry. If USCIS thinks they need more proof, they will ask to submit more. But in most cases, interview will usually call you (not him) in Embassy of USA in your local home country. So it is for you to prepare all proofs you think as necessary to show Counselor when interview time. If counselor reject you after interview, he/she will give you a paper to submit more proof to do. After you submit those document to embassy, no more interview will call, but Counselor will decide base on your document. So you should prepare your documents and trying to remembering facts which should be same as his petition so you would do good at interview time.
This is my opinion not legal advice. I just want to help you to thoroughly consider among doable ways but you take your own risks.

Like the comments below, you might get an RFE to submit additional proofs if the USCIS feels they need to see it. Otherwise, the next time you offer evidence of relationship is when you go to the US Embassy for the interview. Good luck
          --Good luck--
Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.
