  • US police clearance for K1 visa

    Hello everyone,

I've been starting to collect all my papers that I will need as it says on the USCIS site that our NOA2 got approved three days ago. I read that I need a police clearance/check from all countries that I've been living in for longer than 6 months after the age of 16. Unfortunately that is besides my birth country, Germany, also Australia and the U.S..

I already sent all the documents needed for the Australian clearance which was fairly easy as I was able to do it online. Now I am struggling with the American one, as I am currently living in Germany.

I have read on immihelp that "that these police certificates are required only if you are getting an immigrant visa or other immigrant visas such as K, V. They are not required if you are doing an Adjustment of Status". Now I posted the same question in another visa forum and people said that I will not need a police clearance from the U.S. because " the US & Mexico are the two countries that no police clearance is needed from for the purposes of US immigration".
Can anyone help me with this??? I am sure there's been other people that were in the U.S. longer than 6 months on a visa prior to filing the K1. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks a lot in advance!
