hi,
my us boyfriend filed a petition for a K1 visa for me (I am in Romania)
I found out that technically the K1 visa gives the right to work but you also need a special permit for that.
my questions are:
1. is anybody here that got the work authorized stamp in their passoprt while arriving in the states through the jfk airport in new york? (i think its the only airport where they put that stamp)
2. if i dont get work authorized and i have to wait for my EAD - how long does it take for that, and can do volunteer work while waiting for that (i would get bored if i would have to stay home and do nothing, so volunteer work is not paid so will it conflict with my status?)
