So right now we are married islamically, we have a religious wedding contract and pictures from beautiful wedding celebration BUT it is not legally recognized by his country OR by my country. I wont lie and hide that huge celebration so they might say no to K1. This puts in limbo cause fiancée may so no no you are married but spouse may so this isn't even legal in Egypt. BUT....I have flight credit with airline and good chance me and my child are flying back in a few months and during that time we can go to the U.S Embassy and actually do a legally binding wedding at embassy. so at least it secures the spouse visa more. The question I have is, can we file for the spouse visa NOW based upon the religious wedding and once we do the embassy marriage then give that extra paperwork to showcase the legitimacy of it? we don't want to wait till January when we are going to visit cause as you know spouse visa is already a year or so.
We originally planned to do the legal marriage here in the USA cause it is easier but we are going back to visit and figured this will make the marriage visa stronger. it is the only way to legally marry for an American in Egypt.
