  • I864 severe confusion

My wife is canadian, we married in feb 2016. We filed for petition for alien relative in april 2016. The uscis approved our application and we were sent to the visa center. We paid all the fees and submitted our ds-260 today. I have compiled all of our documents to send out, except for the I864. This form has been killing me all day. I am a 28 year old student working two jobs. I dont make sufficient funds to support my wife. I currently and have lived with my parents for some time now. My mother has agreed to jointly accept responsibility. Does she file the I864 or the I864a...If she files, her income alone is not sufficient enough to support my wife, herself, my father, and my 20 year old sister who also lives in the home. I am not a dependent on my parents taxes. If my mother is able to combine her income with mine, she would be about 700 dollars over the requirment. My father makes the big bucks in this family. If my mothers tax return is sufficient enough, which is welllllll over the amount needed, because she files jointly with my father, that would be great, but Im unsure if that is the case here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me nuts......

You prepare an I-864 package, showing mom and dad as household member co-sponsors.

Mom and dad each prepare their own I-864A packages.

All income from you, mom and dad is combined, and should cover a household consisting of mom, dad, you and your wife, and your sister.
