Applying to k-1 visa while having an internship option

Hey everybody,

I'm an Israeli and my fiance is American. We were looking into applying for the K-1 visa and to move to the US as soon as possible. In addition to that, I have received an opportunity to intern for an organization in New York in a few months from now. From what I have checked so far it doesn't look like the 2 years presence rule apply to this internship. My question is if its possible to apply for both? Do I have an option that I can process the K-1 visa and still be able to intern?

If your internship involves a J1 visa requirement, that could be in conflict with your K1 requirements.

If that's not the case, keep in mind that you will not be legally able to work on a K1 visa until about 3 months after you submit the Adjustment of Status paperwork and get an interim Employment Authorization.

My advice would be focus on one thing at a time, and the K1 is probably your best bet, predictable and with a Green Card in a relatively short period.

Thank you for your advice. I'm currently in touch with an immigration lawyer to cover all the options and hopefully work something out.
